After debuting with a successful and sold out inaugural and 2nd annual Westchester Tattoo Convention, Addicted To Ink returns to host the 2015 Westchester Tattoo Convention on October 16, 17 & 18, 2015, at the Westchester County Center for the Arts in White Plains, NY.
The convention recently announced the addition of several television stars to the event, including Halo and Sarah Miller of Spike’s Ink Master, Jasmine Rodriguez of Tattoo Nightmares, Joe Capobianco, Head Judge on Best Ink, and more!

Halo talks about the live paining demo: “For the live painting demo at Westchester Tattoo Convention, I will be going off the top of my head. I honestly don’t know what to expect but I will be probably doing something creepy for Halloween spirit. When I speed paint I usually let my mind go and really try to allow my art to create something on its own. I will also be showing off Photoshop and how it could be helpful for tattoo artists, which is what my DVD (Reinvent Yourself: Photoshop for the Professional Tattoo Artist) will be about.”
He adds, “Tattoo conventions like this are an amazing way to see artists that you’ve only seen in magazines, or on TV or on social media. A lot of these artists will travel and make their art available to the world, and it’s literally the best way to make an educated decision on who to get tattooed by.
There are so many artists NOT on TV, NOT in magazines that might be local to your area really just trying to push their limits that you might not know of and I feel that going to a convention is the best possible way to surround yourselves with different walks of life and art. I’ve been doing conventions now for about 10 years and it’s a great place to network and learn about so many talented artists.”
This year’s convention will feature several new and interactive learning experiences available in the form of unique seminars and classes. See below for select activities taking place at the Westchester Tattoo Convention.
– “Advanced Techniques in Painting on Watercolor Paper, and The Use of Blood as a Medium”, led by surrealist Vincent Castiglia.
Cost: $100
For the first time ever, Vincent publicly discusses all aspects of his creative process, his inspirations and preferences, as well as the importance of finding and honing your own style, composition, shooting your own photo reference, and his techniques of working with blood as a medium – including a step by step demonstration of how he mixes and works with the varying consistencies necessary to complete a painting. The seminar will include example slides from photo shoots, in progress shots of paintings, and blood collection. The seminar will begin in lecture format covering all topics in detail, including time-lapse videos of Vincent’s latest painting, “Beauty And Truth (Not Forgotten)” (for which cover model Leah Jung modeled), and the blood collection process. The seminar will conclude with a live painting demonstration done for attendants, illustrating how the first (foundation) and last (fine details) are applied to his paintings.
Attendants are strongly suggested to take notes, and are free to draw during the seminar (but no painting besides Vincent’s demo will be possible, as we won’t be setup for this). Vincent’s seminar is open to all skill levels. There will be a 20 minute Q and A following the live painting demo, during which Vincent encourages questions from attendants.

The massively talented artists from Northampton Massachusetts’ NiteOwl Tattoo will collaborate to create a unique opportunity for the professional tattoo artist. In this stripped down, informal seminar, artists will have an opportunity to ask questions regarding technique, color palette, equipment, application, and much more. Artists are encouraged to bring their own portfolios to be critiqued and should feel comfortable asking anything since, as the title states, there are no stupid questions! Spike’s “Ink Master” alumni ‘Halo’ (@tattoosbyhalo) will not only be tattooing at this year’s 3rd annual Westchester Tattoo Convention, he’ll also be demonstrating his ability to paint digitally LIVE on stage for attendees! There is no additional cost for this part of the event, and all are welcome to come and watch as Halo creates a beautiful digital painting before your eyes at lightning speed. There will also be a Q&A portion of this event with the audience. Open to all!

This year, the Westchester Tattoo Convention is teaming up with Tuxedo, NY’s Forest of Fear for charity! Artists will carve, paint, or tattoo pumpkins in their own style at the convention and all pumpkins will be placed up for auction to raise money for 10,000 PB&J’s, a homeless outreach effort, and put on display for the public on Saturday and Sunday.
