While many people know that LAMB OF GOD‘s Randy Blythe served a terrifying overseas jail sentence, many people don’t know about his battles with alcoholism and depression. In this YouRock interview, Blythe dives into his struggles, noting how suffering from depression doesn’t always come from detrimental circumstances: “I was in a great place but I felt like I was dying. That’s the component of alcoholism and depression that’s really baffling to some people,” says Blythe.
He also talks about how music helped him when he was younger, saying, “I was listening to the Sex Pistols, and Black Flag, and the Bad Brains. There’s this aggressive music, this stuff that’s speaking about real things…and I’m like, ‘I’m not crazy, I’m not alone in the world.'”
