About AGAINST THE GRAVE:
Against the Grave is an aggressive soaked, vigorously infectious, modern groove metal band based in Los Angeles taking the metal genre in a direction very few go.
“Making the music that aligns with the taste of our collective identity is our passion and goal, we follow our natural vibe and use our musical palettes we gained consuming the songs of greats that came before us.” vocalist Jordan Gaw explains.
“Growing up in Italy, I was turned on to American Heavy Metal very early on, so finding people that loved the same music I did was my ultimate goal. Our sound and style is a perfect blend of all the bands that we love with some touches of personality.” Andy Martis, guitarist of the band confirms.
“We just clicked, immediately, almost as if we had been writing together for years, the music just simply erupted,” asserts Jay, bassist of Against The Grave.
“Killing Us Slowly”, the first official release from the group, a riff commanded machine, currently clocking in around 300k streams on Spotify, was Against The Grave’s first experience with director Nathan Karma Cox. Returning with this prior experience with Cox, the band and director were able to take their collective vision of “Anthem Embattled” to an even more visually powerful height. By utilizing northern California’s desert landscapes and grit, Cox was able to capture truly amazing footage highlighting the vigorous energy of this ripper of a track. ”Barren desert lands, a classic car, brass shells, riffs, ruins and whole lot of headbanging” explains, George Arguello, guitarist of Against The Grave.
“Bleeding You”, their second single, is another glimpse at the horsepower and pure hook resonating from the depths of a grimy downtown Los Angeles rehearsal studio. “Bleeding You” hit a major milestone after its feature on Apple Music’s Metal Editorial Playlists.
Against the Grave even dabbled in the covers world with a featured song on Sirius XM’s Liquid Metals Corridor of Covers with their heavy take on Depeche Mode’s “Wrong” from the B-side of their haunting release “The Death of Trust”.
Against The Grave‘s groove-dominated metal draws influence and familiar sounds form artists like Korn, Rob Zombie and Slipknot. But make no mistake, this music is an explosive version all on its own. This band, and their music, a determination of groove delivery, culminates a fire of aggressive metal power, brings new damage to the landscape of our Heavy Metal world!
