RECURRENCE -THE Unstoppable Force of Melodic Death Metal Announces Upcoming Studio Album Art of Survival + Premieres “Equilibrium” – ReExit (The Mixtape) Drops September 23

THE unstoppable force of melodic death metal, RECURRENCE will release the remix album “ReExit (The Mixtape)” on September 23, 2024, the one year anniversary of their debut album The Exit.

On the question of why to release a remix album, The Antidote answers “We thought while our fans were waiting for the new, upcoming album – Art of Survival that we would do something special for the one year anniversary of our debut album The Exit. We decided to release a remix album, in the style of a mixtape. I have always been a fan of underground hip-hop and rap mixtapes and remixes and I thought it would be fun to do something similar with our music. We have a lot of chopped & screwed remixes of songs from The Exit, as well as some 8-bit or “video game” remixes of these songs”.

Not only are there remixes of their hit singles on the upcoming release entitled ReExit (The Mixtape), but there are also unique and rare tracks. The Antidote explains “We also wanted to include some instrumentals and medleys of the songs to inspire people to hear the songs in a different way and maybe even do their own vocal covers too. We also wanted to include songs off our original demos and EP dating back to 2011 and 2012 that are really hard to find, just to show our growth and evolution over the years, and bring back memories of the good old days!”

Hopefully everyone will enjoy these remixes and rarities while they await the next chapter in Recurrence history, the upcoming studio album, Art of Survival, which will not disappoint!

“We know you’ve already seen us out in the woods, searching, always searching, until we lost control in our music video for our hit single ‘Equilibrium’, but now you can SEE the lyrics of ‘Equilibrium’ in our wonderful new lyrics video! Learn these words, so you can sing along with us when you see us in your city, and lose control!” Recurrence

Fresh off of opening for the legendary band Decide, Recurrence is hard at work on their upcoming album Art of Survival which will once again, be mixed and mastered by the one and only J-F Dagenais of Kataklysm. “We have worked really hard on this album and it really ended up exceeding our expectations,” says The Antidote, the vocalist of Recurrence. “We also have a lot of special guests on this album, that you are certain to enjoy.”

About RECURRENCE:

Deep within the winding woods and hills of INDEPENDENCE, Kentucky, is Recurrence. Formed in 2008 with the goal of writing catchy melodic death metal and making every live show memorable.

While the band pulls influence from melodic death metal bands such as Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork, The Duskfall, and Amon Amarth, they also incorporate other hardcore and metalcore influences such as Bury Your Dead, Bleeding Through, and God Forbid. Their sound combines a little bit of that ‘something for everyone’ feeling, and includes beautiful melodic guitar riffs, the heaviest of heavy breakdowns, chilling piano and choirs, ‘disco’ synths and folk instruments, and to top it off, a range of vicious vocals from death metal gutturals, hardcore shouting, and even cleanly sung male and female vocals. All of this in turn results in some of the heaviest, happiest, evilest, most melodic metal out there right now.

Recurrence hit the stage in 2011, by hosting their own local metal festival called “MadFest” (named for the legendary Covington venue The Mad Hatter), and has played over 30 shows and counting in major neighboring cities including Cleveland, Columbus, and Louisville and opening for headliners such as Evergrey, Korpiklaani, Sabaton, Nightrage, Spineshank, Týr, The Bunny The Bear, and Deicide.

After accomplishing a self-funded demo and EP in their earlier years, Recurrence is now setting out to venture into the forefront of melodic death metal, but this time, with a sight set much further than the Midwestern United States. With their debut album The Exit, mixed and mastered by J-F Dagenais (Kataklysm) in JFD Studio in Dallas, Texas and artwork designed by Niklas Sundin (ex-Dark Tranquillity), the rest of the world was able to hear crowd favorites such as “The 900”, “Sleep”, and “Equilibrium” that always had the audience jumping and moshing along with them.

“Every song, even every riff, should tell a story,” explains The Antidote, “but most importantly, people should want to listen to it again and again and really connect with the music.”

Stay tuned as Recurrence prepares to leave a mark in history as THE unstoppable force of melodic death metal! Recurrence is currently working on their follow up to “The Exit” entitled Art of Survival, which will also be mixed and mastered by J-F Dagenais and will be one of the most groundbreaking melodic death metal albums in history. It will be certain to change the game in the metal scene worldwide!
