Father/Son Grindcore Band Releases “Forgive But Avenge” EP is Out Now – Buy via iTunes

VOMIT FIST’s EP, Forgive But Avenge, is out now! You can order the digital and physical versions of the EP at the links below. Today, OnlineDrummer.com is hosting an exclusive new drum lesson video featuring 17-year-old VOMIT FIST drummer Leo “Lurkrot” Didkovsky performing ‘A Public Execution’. In the video, Didkovsky showcases how he combines both straight time and melodic drummer techniques while playing in odd meters. Check out the video via OnlineDrummer.com here: http://www.onlinedrummer.com/drum-videos/vomit-fist-drum-lesson-a-public-execution-playing-in-158/

Leo Didkovsky uses Pearl Export drums for gigs, and practices with Roland V-Drums at home. Didkovsky states, “Currently in VOMIT FIST, we’re moving toward more vicious and noise-oriented riffs that act more as textures, like in our tune ‘Under the Rind’. We’re looking forward to writing and recording more material and hitting the road to support our new record Forgive but Avenge.”

If you haven’t noticed already, the VOMIT FIST guys aren’t afraid to exercise their funny bones. Watch a hysterically tongue-in-cheek “corpse-paint tutorial” video featuring VOMIT FIST guitarist Nick Didkovsky via Bloody-Disgusting.com here: http://bloody-disgusting.com/videos/3320367/vomit-fist-teaches-apply-corpse-paint-exclusive/

Featuring raw, in-your-face sonics, Forgive But Avenge was recorded and engineered at Nik Chinboukas at Spin Studios (studio credits include Lamb of GodTestament and Gojira).  The tracks rip through themes of rebirth, apocalyptic chaos, ecstatic dermal auto-excoriation, and transgressive ancient tantric poetry.

Each member of VOMIT FIST pulls influence from a rich musical background. Guitarist and composer Nick Didkovsky founded the avant-rock band Doctor Nerve in 1983, the metal band Häßliche Luftmasken in 2010, and was a member of the Fred Frith Guitar Quartet during its tenure. In addition, he has composed for a number of ensembles including Bang On A Can, ETHEL, and Meridian Arts Ensemble, and his Black Sabbathguitar lessons on YouTube have reached millions of viewers. Nick’s son, 17-year-old Leo Didkovsky, founded the death metal band Diabolicus, which released two records in its lifetime. Meanwhile, 18-year-old singer Malcolm Hoyt is founding member of art punk band Adela and the Ucars, and is also active with Space Ass and Mucus (all bands Leo was a member of, as well), although the band collectively describes Skrag as having “crawled forth from the bleeding plasma bowels of a dying star 4.5 billion years ago”. Hey, we all come from somewhere.
