“According to ancient folklore, consuming the blood of a newly deceased infant and consequent regurgitation of its blood onto the dead can open up eternal vistas beyond any mortal comprehension.” (Source Unkown – circa 1487)

Nightborn explains “Aphelion Dusk’ is about the rebellion within oneself and the release from rules that binds us. Aphelion is defined as the furthest point of earth away from sun in astronomy and dusk is the furthest point away from morning. Just like blood is the release for vampirism, the analogy of coldest and darkest point of existence that is far away from sunrise with a thirst for blood is a symbolism for the reawakening of a vengeful spirit. A vengeance that is not directed at a specific person but life itself.”

For the recording of “Aphelion Dusk” and the Unhuman album, Arda used an extremely rare guitar that once belonged to the mighty Gary Holt. The guitar was extremely influential in the creation of the latest Nightborn album, Unhuman and can be seen in this video. Krimh of Septic Flesh played and recorded the drum parts for the album. Fascination Street Studios in Sweden mixed and mastered the record.

The video was directed by Cihan Kahraman and it aims to capture a ritualistic ceremony of witches that bring a collective gift to a vampire who happens to be the leader of the cult. The gift is a recently deceased infant. By drinking and spreading the blood of the dead baby, the vampire queen not only finds eternal life, she also gains an innocent beauty that would mesmerize her new victims as she raises new followers from the dead.

Nightborn will be releasing 3 videos in total from the Unhuman album this Summer, to familiarize and acquaint the listeners with their unique sound. The aim is to prepare the audiences for the September release of their upcoming EP titled “Hammer of the Heretic” featuring brand new material. The EP will be featuring Simon McKay (Agonist) on drums, Hubert Wiecek (Ex-Decapitated, Dieth) on the bass and producer Pavel Daniels will be on the edits, mixing and mastering duties.

About NIGHTBORN:

NIGTHBORN is a thrash metal band formed in 2012 by Arda K. that initially started as a one-man project – though some of the compositions go even further back. Nightborn focused on producing melodic thrash metal in the veins of old school sound blended with the style of the revival scene.

Nightborn’s first album Skyeless was released in 2017 and was mastered in Fascination Street Studios, Sweden which previously worked with artists such as Kreator, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity and Sepultura. The album cover art was done by Eliran Kantor and singles artwork were by Maximillan Mende.

Nightborn’s lyrics often deal with politically anti-system sentiments, the elure of dying and death, somberness, desperation, hatred and rage, serial killers and murder, the dark nature of human mind, nightmares and the night itself.

The band’s second album, Unhuman was released in 2022 and was also mixed and mastered at Fascination Street Studios. The album consists of fast, unrelenting thrash metal for the fans of great bands such as Slayer, Testament, Kreator, Sepultura and Exodus with additional dark melodic elements. Just like Skyless, all lyrics and music were arranged, written, composed and performed by the frontman Arda K. All the drum parts on Unhuman were performed by Krimh of Septic Flesh, Decapitated and Behemoth. Additional guitar edits were carried out by Gokalp Ergen, the vocalist of Mezarkabul.

After the 2022 release of Unhuman, Nightborn started to prepare for live performances and touring by expanding the band’s line-up with veteran metal musicians, all of whom have been active in the metal scene since early 2000’s.

Metal Injection premiered the video for “Grave Madness” from the Unhuman album on June 6th, writing “Nightborn’s new video for “Grave Madness” is pretty gross…the song also shreds.” The video was directed by infamous dark performance artist Louis Fleischauer. VIEWER WARNING! Discretion is advised as the video features REAL blood, skulls, bones, body modification, and actual hanging by hooks.
