Music, Art and Literature Come Together to Create the Three Pillars of HOMERIK
The Circle of Dead Children Novel Out Now via Metal Mastermind®
An artist must grow and stay loyal to what is sacred to them – their art – like the god Atlas, bearing the weight of the world on their shoulders. I had to remind myself on many occasions that Homerik was bigger than me. It was the word of God, yet I do not consider myself a religious man. There are just some things in life that take on a life of its own, this being one of them. – Ken Candelas

“The Circle of Dead Children is not just an album; it is an immersive experience that challenges listeners to engage with profound philosophical questions while being captivated by a rich, multi-layered soundscape. Homerik has set a new standard in musical storytelling, creating a work that is destined to endure through the ages. This project is a testament to the power of music and art to explore the deepest recesses of the human soul and to illuminate the path to redemption.
In a genre often misunderstood and misrepresented, Homerik’s latest creation is a beacon of innovation, proving that metal can be a profound medium for exploring complex themes and narratives. As the world continues to grapple with existential questions, The Circle of Dead Children offers a reflective journey through which we can ponder what it means to be human and to seek redemption in a world fraught with moral ambiguity. This is not just an album for metal fans; it is a cultural artifact that invites all who dare to listen, to embark on a journey through the inferno and beyond.” – Eternal Flames
From the spellbinding Philosophical Metal group Homerik comes The Circle of Dead Children – an album and story originally inspired by the concept of ‘as above, so below’ – the alchemical philosophy that fostered the merging of two concepts.
This infernal pilgrimage through the Inferno unlocks the ‘secrets of divine power hidden within the fabled philosopher’s stone’. Following the prologue “A Song of the Night: Part I,” the album’s epic quest continues with “Godless; A Song of the Night, Part II,” exploring the pivotal role of Morgana, Dante’s mother, in connecting him to the devil. As Dante ventures deeper into the Inferno, he confronts the awakening of a great power within him, seeking redemption and answers for his soul’s errors.
“Godless; A Song of the Night, Part II” premiered at Metal Injection, in a July 29th post entitled Homerik Goes Full On Metal Opera With New Single “Godless; A Song Of The Night, Part II”, writing“Homerik is showing off their upcoming metal opera with the premiere of a new single ‘Godless; A Song of the Night, Part II’. The song takes on after ‘A Song of the Night: Part I’, the Homerik prologue that explores the relationships of Morgana, the mother of Dante.” Check out the feature here: https://metalinjection.net/new-music/homerik-goes-full-on-metal-opera-with-new-single-godless-a-song-of-the-night-part-ii
“Morgana’s role is pivotal to the story, for she is the key to Dante’s connection to the devil. This forces Dante to explore deep within the Inferno and, as he gets closer to the ninth circle of Hell, a great power within him begins to awaken. Whilst Dante seeks answers to correct the errors of his soul, he must uncover what harkens him toward the divine and what kind of power he harnesses. The afterlife depends on it.” – Homerik
This epic quest for redemption and healing explores the workings of humanity’s morals. Homerik has created a reflective journey through which we can ponder on the questions that have no answers. A journey to recognize our mortality and recognize what is good.
The next standout track “Sacred Order,” features a call to reflect on past sins, draws upon Franklin D. Roosevelt’s impactful “The Arsenal of Democracy” speech from December 29, 1940. This song represents Dante’s conflicted mind and regret over joining the Nazi regime, setting the stage for his journey through the horrors of World War II and the Inferno.
