Count Basie Theatre ‘FILM FOR THOUGHT’ Series Presents Groundbreaking Heavy Metal Documentary AS THE PALACES BURN This Saturday, April 19
Film screening to include panel discussion from area music industry experts and radio personalities
The Count Basie Theatre has announced that the documentary As The Palaces Burn will be screened at the theatre this Saturday, April 19th at 7pm.
As the Palaces Burn is a feature-length documentary that originally sought to follow the heavy metal band LAMB OF GOD and their fans throughout the world, to demonstrate how music ties fans together when they can’t find any other common bond. However, during the filming process in 2012, the story abruptly took a dramatic turn, when lead singer Randy Blythe was arrested on charges of manslaughter, blamed for the death of one of their young fans in the Czech Republic. What followed was a heart-wrenching courtroom drama that left fans, friends, and curious onlookers around the world on the edge of their seats.
The screening of As The Palaces Burn is the latest in the Count Basie Theatre’s Film For Thought series, which accentuates a traditional film screening with a pre-show discussion lead by experts familiar with the film’s content. Joining the panel for As The Palaces Burn will be:
- Lamb Of God publicist Maria Ferrero, a New Jersey native and president of noted music publicity firm, Adrenaline PR and one of the heads of Breaking Bands LLC, a new management company formed by Ferrero, former MegaForce Records and Crazed Management owners Jon and Marsha Zazula, and Testament vocalist and co-manager Chuck Billy.
- Personalities from Seton Hall University radio station WSOU-FM, regarded as the most significant metal station in America, as well as one of the country’s most influential college radio stations.
- The panel will be moderated by Jon Vena, Count Basie Theatre Director of Marketing and Public Relations, who has promoted more than a dozen Lamb Of God concert dates over the last decade.
Tickets are priced at just $8, and are available through www.countbasietheatre.org, phone charge at 732-842-9000 or the Count Basie Theatre box office, located onsite at 99 Monmouth Street, Red Bank, NJ.
